My firsts

Actually stole this from princess diaree, just couldn’t resist, and since I also saw it on preppy girl's I figured might as well post the darn thing!

1.Who was your first prom date? I never went to a prom, not even my own… Boo hoo hoo… so no prom date...

2. Who was your first roommate? When I left my parents’ place it was to move in with my boyfriend S. We had a great place, but our living arrangements didn’t work out for the best… oh well, moved on to better things!

3. What was your first alcoholic drink? I can’t remember the first time I had a sip of beer – knowing my dad I must have been young! But the first drink that I ordered was a screwdriver soon followed by a B-52!

4. What was your first job? Does being raised behind a counter of a restaurant and helping out count as a first job? Humm? The first job I was ever paid for, was watering lawns on a new construction site – did that for a whole summer – every night!

5. What was your first car? A fire truck red Toyota Corolla, that when I sold it, 12 years later, had become pink. What a great car that was!

6. What was your first funeral? Besides my cat, Miquet, it was Clifford’s, the ice deliveryman at the restaurant. I was about 4-5 years old.

7. What was your first broken bone? Both my wrists (at the same time! - you try doing that!!), during a basketball game!

8. Who was your first grade teacher? Sister Irene Hachey. She was a strict but very cool nun! I have a picture of her dancing at a "Sugar Shack" school outing!

9. Where was your first airplane ride to? I flew to Montreal from Amos (northern town in Qc), but I don't really remember it. The first one I remember was the first time I went to Miami!

10. When did you sneak out of your house for the first time? I never did that, and if I did I wouldn’t be here to write about it!

11. Who was your first best friend? My friend Nathalie Cartier, all through primary school. Then I went to a different highschool and we lost touch.

12. Where was your first sleep over? Never did that either… as I kid… Started doing that with my first boyfriend, S, and I was about 19...

13. Who is the first person you call when you have a bad day? My husband.

14. Who's wedding were you in for the first time? I was involved in helping organized the wedding but had no "role" as such in any wedding…

15. What is the first thing you do in the morning? After waking up? Pee!

16. What was the first concert you went to? Can’t remember, but my last one was Jann Arden, was a great show!

17. First tattoo or piercing? My first tattoo was a wildcat’s face and my name in Japanese. Then in 1999 I went back and got a “kanku” (Karate symbol) around the first one. Thinking about getting another one…

18. First celebrity crush? Wayne Gretzky (from the Edmonton’s Oilers at the time) and Gilbert Delorme (with the Montreal Canadian at the time).

19. First non-celebrity crush? I had crushes basically on any boy who looked at me! But then, one summer came Robin, I was about 12, ooohhh how that boy tormented me!

20. First true love? I often thought it was true love, until we broke up and then realised that it wasn’t really it. Then, I would say my favourite current hubby.

Tunes That Taught Me Something...

I thought it was a cool concept when I saw this: You simply have to make a list of tunes that have taught you something in life. Anyway, here is my list...enjoy!

1. The Beatles taught me to let it be.

2. Kiss taught me that I was made for loving you, baby, you were made for loving me.

3. Pink Floyd taught me that the sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older, shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

4. Guns ‘N Roses taught me that it's hard to keep an open heart when even friends seem out to harm you.

5. Elton John taught me that when all hope is gone sad songs say so much.

6. Bon Jovi taught me that I’m gonna live while I'm alive, I'll sleep when I'm dead.

7. Metallica taught me that what I've felt, what I've known, never shined through in what I've shown.

8. REM taught me that everybody hurts.

9. Gabrielle taught me that dreams can come true, look at me babe I'm with you.

10. Phil Collins taught me that yes you’ll be in my heart, from this day on, now and forever more.

11. U2 taught me that we're one, but we're not the same.

12. Blue Rodeo taught me I kind of like this feeling of being left behind.

13. Jann Arden taught me that we could die tomorrow, might as well enjoy this.

14. Amanda Marshall taught me that it isn’t easy to be kind.

15. Shaggy taught me that no matter how inside you're blue, there's always someone who has it worse than you.

16. P!nk taught me that I can’t stay on your morphine, ‘cause it’s making me itch.

17. Norah Jones taught me that I'd give you my last shirt, because I love you so.

18. Shakira taught me that underneath your clothes there’s an endless story, there’s a man I chose.

19. Maroon5 taught me to steal some covers, share some skin.

20. David Usher taught me to believe your truth is not my truth, that God can exist with many faces at one time.

21. Marc Anthony taught me that I could take a trip all around the world, but why would I go anywhere when I’ve got you.

22. Joss Stone taught me even a wise man jumps in misery somewhere down the line.

23. Rod Stewart taught me there is nothin' that I cannot do, ‘cause I am human.

24. Jonas taught that I'm everything that you really don't want me to be...

25. The Black Eyed Peas taught me if you only have love for your own race, then you only leave space to discriminate, and to discriminate only generates hate.

An indirect tag about books

Following GG’s request, and since I made it to her blogroll, I thought I would oblige…

One book that changed my life?: I’ve read a few that had some impact on me, but “Le Tigre Bleu” written by a local artist Jean-Pierre Bélanger has for ever changed the way I see our local Chinatown.

One book I have read more than once?: Besides all my “Tintin” and “Astérix & Obélix”, that I’ve read over and over, and still do, since we have all albums for both I would say that “Les Filles de Caleb” series I’ve read (and even watched the mini-series) more than once. Always been fascinated by how people my grandparents' time lived their lives, etc.

One book I would want on a deserted island?: I’d say a “How To” book?…could be handy…

One book that made me laugh?:
I think that at some or another all the books I read will make me smirk, but laugh? I guess I just don’t read those types of books… EXCEPT for “Calvin & Hobbes” I love that kid and he does make me laugh out loud on a regular base!

One book that made me cry?: Moloka’I” by Alan Brennert, moved me a great deal. I’m a little embarrassed to write that the last Harry Potter when Dumbledore dies I shed a few tears…

One book I wish had been written?: "How to deal with a crazy mother in law who just won’t accept you even after 12 years of being in the life of her precious son?"

One book I wish had never been written?: Any book on child abuse, rape, etc. I just wished those type of crimes wouldn’t exist so no books had to be written about them.

One book I am currently reading?: “A Breath of Snow and Ashes” by Diana Gabaldon. The last one of the “Outlander” series, and like the others I love it.

One book I have been meaning to read?: “Without Conscience” by Dr. Robert D. Hare, just can’t seem to muster the courage to read it… and “Bringing Out The Dead” by Joe Connelly… When I saw that Nicolas Cage was in the movie version, I kind of got turned off from reading the book… Had both of those for years and can’t seem to get to them… maybe one day. Maybe I should bring those on the deserted island, I’d have no choice but to read them then! There’s an idea!

I’m not tagging anyone, but help yourself if this tag interests you!
