My firsts
1.Who was your first prom date? I never went to a prom, not even my own… Boo hoo hoo… so no prom date...
2. Who was your first roommate? When I left my parents’ place it was to move in with my boyfriend S. We had a great place, but our living arrangements didn’t work out for the best… oh well, moved on to better things!
3. What was your first alcoholic drink? I can’t remember the first time I had a sip of beer – knowing my dad I must have been young! But the first drink that I ordered was a screwdriver soon followed by a B-52!
4. What was your first job? Does being raised behind a counter of a restaurant and helping out count as a first job? Humm? The first job I was ever paid for, was watering lawns on a new construction site – did that for a whole summer – every night!
5. What was your first car? A fire truck red Toyota Corolla, that when I sold it, 12 years later, had become pink. What a great car that was!
6. What was your first funeral? Besides my cat, Miquet, it was Clifford’s, the ice deliveryman at the restaurant. I was about 4-5 years old.
7. What was your first broken bone? Both my wrists (at the same time! - you try doing that!!), during a basketball game!
8. Who was your first grade teacher? Sister Irene Hachey. She was a strict but very cool nun! I have a picture of her dancing at a "Sugar Shack" school outing!
9. Where was your first airplane ride to? I flew to Montreal from Amos (northern town in Qc), but I don't really remember it. The first one I remember was the first time I went to Miami!
10. When did you sneak out of your house for the first time? I never did that, and if I did I wouldn’t be here to write about it!
11. Who was your first best friend? My friend Nathalie Cartier, all through primary school. Then I went to a different highschool and we lost touch.
12. Where was your first sleep over? Never did that either… as I kid… Started doing that with my first boyfriend, S, and I was about 19...
13. Who is the first person you call when you have a bad day? My husband.
14. Who's wedding were you in for the first time? I was involved in helping organized the wedding but had no "role" as such in any wedding…
15. What is the first thing you do in the morning? After waking up? Pee!
16. What was the first concert you went to? Can’t remember, but my last one was Jann Arden, was a great show!
17. First tattoo or piercing? My first tattoo was a wildcat’s face and my name in Japanese. Then in 1999 I went back and got a “kanku” (Karate symbol) around the first one. Thinking about getting another one…
18. First celebrity crush? Wayne Gretzky (from the Edmonton’s Oilers at the time) and Gilbert Delorme (with the Montreal Canadian at the time).
19. First non-celebrity crush? I had crushes basically on any boy who looked at me! But then, one summer came Robin, I was about 12, ooohhh how that boy tormented me!
20. First true love? I often thought it was true love, until we broke up and then realised that it wasn’t really it. Then, I would say my favourite current hubby.

An indirect tag about books
One book that changed my life?: I’ve read a few that had some impact on me, but “Le Tigre Bleu” written by a local artist Jean-Pierre Bélanger has for ever changed the way I see our local Chinatown.
One book I have read more than once?: Besides all my “Tintin” and “Astérix & Obélix”, that I’ve read over and over, and still do, since we have all albums for both I would say that “Les Filles de Caleb” series I’ve read (and even watched the mini-series) more than once. Always been fascinated by how people my grandparents' time lived their lives, etc.
One book I would want on a deserted island?: I’d say a “How To” book?…could be handy…
One book that made me laugh?: I think that at some or another all the books I read will make me smirk, but laugh? I guess I just don’t read those types of books… EXCEPT for “Calvin & Hobbes” I love that kid and he does make me laugh out loud on a regular base!
One book that made me cry?: “Moloka’I” by Alan Brennert, moved me a great deal. I’m a little embarrassed to write that the last Harry Potter when Dumbledore dies I shed a few tears…
One book I wish had been written?: "How to deal with a crazy mother in law who just won’t accept you even after 12 years of being in the life of her precious son?"
One book I wish had never been written?: Any book on child abuse, rape, etc. I just wished those type of crimes wouldn’t exist so no books had to be written about them.
One book I am currently reading?: “A Breath of Snow and Ashes” by Diana Gabaldon. The last one of the “Outlander” series, and like the others I love it.
One book I have been meaning to read?: “Without Conscience” by Dr. Robert D. Hare, just can’t seem to muster the courage to read it… and “Bringing Out The Dead” by Joe Connelly… When I saw that Nicolas Cage was in the movie version, I kind of got turned off from reading the book… Had both of those for years and can’t seem to get to them… maybe one day. Maybe I should bring those on the deserted island, I’d have no choice but to read them then! There’s an idea!
I’m not tagging anyone, but help yourself if this tag interests you!

2. My blog name came about following hubby’s blog about this stink problem we’re having with our city.

73. My parents thought I would grow up to do something in the medical field, because I’ve always been curious and used to collect sutures…

87. For the last three years, I’ve been "adopting" a family (in need) at Christmas and provide them with a Christmas Basket. 20 things I hate about me…
1. My attachment to animals (a lot more than people!), like our cat and now the pooch…
2. My emotionalism: I can cry for the smallest little thing, like a sad movie… it’s pathetic!
3. The fact that I have more brain farts lately than ever before. Could that be because I’m aging?!…
4. The fact that I’m unable to let go of the mother-in-law problem completely. I guess, I still have a little hope…
5. My 0 to 60 temperament: I have no (or very little) patience, and at times I sort of wish I did, especially dealing with Hubby.
6. The way I feel when I go shopping for clothes. I feel like a fat carrot in a green onion looking word!
7. That I don’t feel like a good daughter because I don’t visit my mother often. I just don’t want to drive 1 hour each way… It’s just far enough to make it a yucky drive.
8. That I’m not the life of the party kind of person. At times I wish I were…
9. The way I can bear grudges and like a pit bull will not let it go, at all! For years! Not good!
10. That once I’ve made an opinion about someone, it is almost impossible for me to change my mind or to review my position. (But often my first impression is right!)
11. When something isn’t going the way I want it to, it shows in my face or my behaviour, unfortunately. My expressions will betray me!
12. The fact that my body aches often and I don’t really know why (neither do the doctors I’ve seen so far!)
13. That I let one lousy person get me so pissed off and take my motivation away that I stop training in karate, despite my 20 years of labour.
14. The way I got hooked to this blogging thing! I have a feeling it could become a serious addiction!
15. The fact that I’ll jump and scream when I encounter a spider or some icky creepy crawly! I can face up any man I met, but a bug… buurk!
16. That feeling I get when I'm not sure about something. I hate that!
17. The way I, at times, take things too seriously or too personal. Let it go!
18. To see myself in pictures, since I very rarely like what I see.
19. The fact that I tend to procrastinate certain tasks because I don’t like to do them.
20. My inability (or unwillingness?!?) to control what I say at times, but mostly how I say it! Too blunt, way too blunt…
There I'm done!

10 Things About Cathy, the Pooch
- She is small (weights about 2lbs), with lots of grey hair in her once shinny black coat.
- Her trademark ears are still held erected, even if she doesn't hear that well anymore.
- Her tail isn't as sickle-shaped as it used to be. It's sad to she her with her tail between her legs.
- Her nails were long, way too long, so this morning I brought her to our vet to have them clipped. No more "tick, tick, tick" when she walks around.
- Her prominent eyes are, at times, glazed over. She is losing her sight.
- She is completely lost, and wanders around endlessly. It's sad to see.
- She sleeps a lot, and snores up a storm!
- She can only be picked up very gently - she has a bunch of lumps all over...
- She totally ignores our cat, keeps on walking by him with no interest whatsoever!
- She has met the life expectancy of the Chihuahua with her 14 years ...

My first list of "Why is it?"
Here's what I was venting about...
List of men I can think of...
Back in May (the 14th) I've made this list of the first 40 men I can think of... I could have made it to 50, but I stopped at 40.
But I will most likely do other lists, because men are like ...flowers (!?) they simply pop up everywhere and you can't help to enjoy their beauty...
My actual first list!

All about I
I said too often what I thought without thinking about it before hand!
I want to live somewhere warm, year 'round!
I wish to loose weight and not think about it too much.
I hate to think that I have to see my mother-in-law, even if she’s teaching me tolerance.
I miss my dad more than I thought I would, funny how that is…
I fear crippy crawlies, all kind of bugs, especially spiders.
I hear birds chirping and I love that.
I wonder if there’s an after life worth going to...
I regret not having said “I love you” more often to my dad before he died, even if I know that he knew…
I am not a patient person.
I dance more when I’m alone than with people around me!
I sign all the time while driving, especially when there’s no traffic!
I cry every time I watch something sad on TV, at the movies, etc. – it’s pretty pathetic, especially these days!
I am not always the easiest person to be around – I shall work on that!
I made friends with people I didn’t think I would.
I write whenever I have something to say but can’t say outright. That way I think more about what I want to say and often I don’t tell the people, but I got it out of my system.
I confuse myself very easily with directions!
I need to let go of certain things from my past in order to move on and be in peace with myself.
I should be more careful of my health and of how I talk to people.
I start to see that I am getting older, and a part of me doesn’t like it too much, but another part of me doesn’t see it as a negative thing at all.
I finish everything that I start – there’s nothing more that I hate then “quitters”! Sometimes it takes a while but I do see it ‘til the end.
